HoneyComb LX2 is not another Arm SBC, but instead, a full-fledge certified Aarch64 based development and testing solution built by developers for developers. There is no custom BSP with this platform, but instead, install and run any Linux or BSD based distribution out of the box, try out VMWare ESXi on Arm, or demo Windows 10 Enterprise on Arm. With 16 cores and up to 64 GB of memory, you have all the hardware resources to develop Arm apps and solutions natively on our workstation. Increase your productivity by easily deploying and testing your Aarch64 code using native virtualization and container solutions. Expand your horizons by leveraging the 4 x 10Gbps SFP+ ports for Software Defined Networking development ideas. HoneyComb LX2 is the Arm64 development tool that will unlock your time to develop the software and ideas that interest you, rather than struggle just getting the board up and running.
HoneyComb is a feature-rich Mini ITX platform designed for the standard COM Express type 7 form factor – allowing developers easy access to supported modules, with powerful networking and connectivity options.
Push the limit of the network’s edge with CEx7 LX2160A – based on NXP’s outstanding 16 core LX2160A Arm Cortex A72 (2GHz) offering up to 64GB DDR4 (dual channel) and up to 40GbE.
SolidRun, NXP and Arm partnered together to bring a hardware and firmware combination that passes Arm’s certification standard of SystemReady ES (Embedded Server). What this means is that HoneyComb running our tianocore edk2 based firmware will boot and run on most Aarch64 operating systems out of the box. For us this is a major milestone in being able to provide a platform that no longer requires a custom BSP, but instead allows customers to quickly download and install the operating system that they are most comfortable running. The standards based firmware and compatibility with off the shelf operating systems also means that security updates and longevity of support are no longer a concern. SystemReady ES allows customers to treat HoneyComb more like a traditional PC rather than a custom embedded platform.
SolidRun’s 1U Dual Sled server is made for native Arm build server farms, and designed to reduce footprint in racks by integrating two computer units (HoneyComb LX2) into a 1U chassis.
