Renesas RZ/G2L SOM

SolidRun’s RZ/G2L SoM features a Cortex®-A55 (1.2 GHz) CPU, 16-bit DDR4 interface, 3D graphics engine with Arm Mali-G31 and video codec (H.264). It also supports various interfaces such as camera input, display output, USB 2.0, and Gbit-Ether, making it ideal for applications such as entry-class industrial human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and embedded devices with video capabilities. The SOM includes onboard certified dual band 11ac WiFi and BT 5.0, onboard eMMC, memory and power management. The SOM will enable developers to quickly and easily create powerful and reliable embedded systems with minimal design effort.

SolidRun’s RZ/G2L system on a module (SOM) provides improved CPU processing performance, allowing for faster and more responsive HMI applications. Additionally, the MPU’s high reliability and low power consumption make it ideal for use in HMI applications that require continuous operation and minimal downtime.

Developers and operations teams can enjoy predictable and long-lasting support with the RZ/G2L SOM, thanks to its 10-year longevity program. In addition to this, the SOM is paired with long-term maintenance and support on Linux CIP (Civil Infrastructure Project), ensuring that development and deployment schedules and applications are supported throughout their lifecycle.

Developers can use the same carrier board for different products and applications with SolidRun’s RZ/G2L SOM, which is pin-to-pin compatible with the RZ/V2L SOM that incorporates Renesas’s DRP-AI technology for secure and effective edge AI processing. This compatibility allows for seamless switching between SOMs while maintaining the same software stack and applications.
