SolidRun Has Been Selected as an Early Access Partner for the New i.MX8M Processor

SolidRun is expected to roll-out the first products based on the NXP® i.MX 8M primarily aimed at the IoT and Industrial markets.

Following their successful solutions based on NXP i.MX 6 applications processors, SolidRun has been selected by NXP as an early access partner to be among those to lead the roll-out of the powerful new i.MX 8M family of processors. SolidRun’s impressive track record of embedded computing solutions includes the CuBox mini-computers, SOMs (System on Module) & SBCs (Single Board Computer), based on a variety of powerful processor families designed for full modularity, “Mix and Match” abilities and ease-of-use for a range of application developments and deployment.

The i.MX 8M family of processors has up to four 1.5 GHz ARM® Cortex®-A53 and Cortex-M4 cores, high-speed connectivity interfaces and flexible memory options. The processors also feature full 4K UltraHD resolution and HDR video quality, the highest levels of pro audio fidelity, up to 20 audio channels and DSD512 audio. The i.MX 8M family includes the i.MX 8M Solo, i.MX 8M Dual, i.MX 8M Quad and i.MX 8M QuadLite.

SolidRun’s portfolio of products based on the i.MX 8M processor, will include a variety of SOMs and SBCs, in a range of configurations and environment grades. Existing i.MX 6-based customers will be offered a smooth migration path enabling an upgrade to the new i.MX 8M family of SOCs, by offering compatible SOMs and software support. In addition, various new form factors will be offered including COMs based on the SMARC standardized design.
