In April 2011, a company made up of engineers, developers and designers decided to make a difference, and pursue a new idea. They wanted to create a micro-PC that was energy efficient yet powerful, the smaller the better, and able to be used for a wide range of applications.
Kossay Omary, SolidRun founder and CEO explains that "The world needs more low power, less-wasteful devices to do all kinds of tasks, including entertainment".
The answer? A tiny, high performance, low power miniature computer and media centre called CuBox.
Development started on CuBox straight away, and by December of that year, the first shipments were sent off to developers, hobbyists, creators, inventors and people looking to experiment with a new media solution.
Today, the team is made up of six people in three sites around the world:
Our mission is to be the leading provider of miniature computing solutions by offering innovative, small, energy efficient yet powerful open source alternatives to today's larger form factor computers, IPTV set-top boxes and thin clients.
