The First Software-Defined DPU for Cloud, Edge and Enterprise Data Centers
SolidRun’s SolidNET are software-defined data processing units that offer customers full flexibility to isolate between the server and infrastructure based on virtIO, DPDK and NVMe standards for implementing SDN, networking security, and acceleration functions, without the huge costs of overhauling network infrastructure.
An easy upgrade for existing servers, SolidNET DPUs feature a half-height-half-length PCIe card, and are packed with powerful, off-the-shelf SoCs, Multi-core ARM, and high-speed Ethernet ports – providing customers with all of the key elements required for next-generation cloud-scale computing, network security and application acceleration. Operating separately from the host server, these DPUs boot to a general-purpose OS like Linux and offer independent out-of-band management capabilities for edge, cloud and enterprise data center deployment.

Enabling 100 percent bare-metal and virtualized/containerized Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), SolidNET DPUs fully off-load network and NVMe functions from the host server CPU’s hypervisor, creating physical isolation between the server’s compute resources and infrastructure – providing vast service offload capabilities. With SolidNET DPUs, cloud application performance is greatly improved, making them an ideal solution for virtualized and bare-metal hosting infrastructure services.
Perfect for network management, storage, security abstractions to hide advanced topologies from applications, SDN overlays, mesh, NVMeoF, network HSM, virtual private cloud and more, SolidNET DPUs, absorb the workload so that these types of functions no longer compete with application workloads for server resources. In parallel, server security is improved with independent out-of-band management capabilities, secure boot and root of trust support.
SolidNET Software-Defined DPUs offer flexible integration for a variety of application-level offloading and acceleration functions for Edge deployment, like L4 Firewall, DDOS, Bot Detection, API Gateway, etc. This functionality is extremely beneficial when running workloads at the Cloud Edge as it boosts efficiency by maximizing the utilization of the host CPU for running the required application/service algorithms while the DPU executes the basic function per application instructions. For example, DDoS attack filtering can be executed by the DPU per filtering tables built and maintained by the application running on the host server CPU.
Enterprise customers can find tremendous benefits using SolidNET DPUs for software-defined networking functions and application-level acceleration. Doing so effectively allows the DPU to operate as a dedicated server within a server. This offers massive benefits for enterprise security acceleration, CDN uPOP acceleration and infrastructure cloud services. With abundant software available for the Arm platform, SolidNET DPUs can be fully customized and optimized for today’s most stringent applications, as well as tomorrow’s while sustaining the highest possible performance.

SolidRun BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) improve the security, sourcing, and flexibility of server management. By using an OpenBMC, an open-source firmware, in an OCP (Open Compute Project) form factor, organizations can take advantage of the benefits of a modular design, such as the ability to easily replace or upgrade components, while also having the ability to customize the software to fit their specific needs.
This approach also allows for more secure and reliable server management, as well as the ability to source components from multiple vendors. Overall, the modular BMC approach can provide organizations with greater control and flexibility when it comes to managing their servers.
RunBMC form factor based on a variety of NXP i.MX8 SOM (System On Module) solutions to support Management Network Port, HDMI for local Display, Secure Boot for ensuring Server boot authentication from BMC boot phase.
