FYI, the dropbox links used in some threads and wiki pages are overloaded :

Quote:
Error (509)
This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!

For example, it's impossible to download the standalone installer for the moment.

We upgraded Dropbox account and now it's 200GB download a day.
We are re syncing the same content. Will take few hours.

may I ask for wiki page containing links to dropbox files? (with checksums)

many people are searching for this or that (installer, dovefb driver, kernel, ..) and that page could contain need info.
maybe other pages should link there for easier management

Thanks a lot, it works now. I hope the CuBox is so successful that you need to increase that.

@rabeeh, why is SolidRun even using Dropbox and not a standard FTP or HTTP (Web) Server? :?

IMHO using Dropbox is very unprofessional.

You should have all official shares from solid-run.com instead which would be professional.

Alternatively just create an official account for "SolidRun" GitHub.com and use that for all files.

DropBox is faster. Much faster and distributed around the world.

We just upgraded the account to 200GB a day. Lets see if the users can beat this :)

Yeah but DropBox is for sharing files between end-user to end-user because most end-users do not own a web server.

DropBox is not meant for companies to share files to their users, how is the user suppose that it comes from a specific company and does not have viruses or spyware.

Remember that you are representing a company, not just yourself, and a company is responsible for all files its employes are distributing in an official capacity.

:P

I don't have any problem with the high speeds of downloading Dropbox, compared to other company servers they I know would have trouble with the 250MB downloads but the links and checksum should only be in a sold-run controlled site and not a user editable wiki.
