Point is that you have most likely not bricked your CuBox

Bricked?????

From: http://www.solid-run.com/products/cubox

(**) Bricking a product (software wise) is a common mistake developers do. The product incorporates features that can recover the system, without the use of JTAG, even if the boot loader was completely erased.

It's impossible to brick them.. this user is doing something very wrong and blaming others instead of asking for help

Well, not completely agree on the 'unbrickeness' of the plug, as the Ubuntu installer published erased/damaged the u-boot of my CuBox. You do not need a JTAG, but upload the CuBox uboot is not really easy, maybe a JTAG should be better!. I'm thinking in writing an app to restore the uboot, in about 3 months I had to reflash the uboot at least 10 times...

Just read this: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=515

seems like the lack a red light may not be an issue - is that generally what people think?

I might try and use a usb to re flash it or try some of the other things in the post above.

I have also emailed support too.

I have decided to return it - I have had no response from solid run even though I have emailed them about this. I starting to wish I hadn't bought one now!

If you have a serial connection with the console, your not bricked or DOA. you just need to reflash the uboot so you can do the rest normally.

This section of the wiki should help you out: http://www.solid-run.com/mw/index.php/U-Boot_commands. Most likely the via serial connection is the method you'll end up going with. It's written for linux but it's easy for windows. 1: you need a terminal program with xmodem in it. securecrt trial or freeware terraterm will work . where it says type a command, what your going to do is xmodem send/upload the file instead of typing anything.

take note of the section where it says this is tricky you might have to try it a lot of times to get it to work.

They are an israeli company and we're coming out of a holiday for them. It took a few days but they finally got back to me about another issue I'm experiencing.
